The philosophy project or the meaning of life project was different, to say the least during the early parts of the project we learned about all sorts of different personal philosophies such as Existentialism, and Logical Positivism. After learning about some of these different types of philosophies we went on to read a book called Into the Wild. which was about a kid who was never content with the materialistic world he lived in so after college he went off on his own to find is own way and ends up dying in an abandoned bus in the middle of Alaska. We then started to work on your philosophy project which could be anything that we thought was our own personal philosophy. After link internships at all school exhibition, we presented our projects.
I didn’t gain any new insights about my own philosophy but I did learn a lot more about how others think about what the meaning of life is. Everyone has their own idea of what the meaning of life is and what there meaning in life is some people think that you just need to be nice. “Do unto others as you would have done unto you.” others think this is no point to anything we do on this planet and who cares what happens after we die so live life to the fullest doing what you want when you want. These are only a couple of examples there are so many more, but the point to me saying this is through this project I learned more about people and what drives them to make the decisions they do with their life. Why does this matter though? Well with my philosophy I believe in God and I believe that I will go to heaven when I die and that is what I know as a truth, but other people may not see that the same way and I am called by God to love those people and through this project I learned why people believe certain things and know I go and see someone who just wants to party get wasted or do drugs or just seemingly waste their life. Now I can see that person and think maybe they just don’t think there is any point to anything we do because nothing happens after they die so from that I can bring them to hope in telling of an everlasting and beautiful savior that wants to give them a beautiful afterlife.
I will always have questions with my faith and with what I believe that’s just human nature, but I don’t have any outstanding new questions to ask myself or to pray about. However, having and asking questions will be something I will always do and even though I don’t have any new big questions right now doesn't mean I have failed in any way or haven't thought about any of the content we have learned. It means that I have an understanding of what I know and what I have been taught through this project.
