Nature is such an essential part of our lives we live in and around it all day every day. Without the sun, we wouldn’t have warmth and light. Without air around us, we couldn’t run and play outside. Without all the diverse parts of our planet from the dry deserts and oceans to the highest peaks and snowy mountain towns, our weather systems wouldn’t be the way they are. Every part of nature is beautiful in its own way even if we can't see it with our own eyes. We should go out and enjoy it and play in it and learn from it. I believe that our world was made to be beautiful so we can experience it for all the wonders it shows us. A study done by the University of Michigan run by Thomas Juster, Hiromi Ono, and Frank P. Stafford showed that even 15 years ago, the amount of time kids from 2002-03 compared to kids in 1981-82 spend significantly less time outside. http://ns.umich.edu/Releases/2004/Nov04/teen_time_report.pdf

Sadly, in our day and age, people, and most importantly kids aren’t going outside as much as they used to. This is because of several things. Video games capture our kid's attention with thrilling and cool new virtual worlds to explore and play, but you're inside your house to play and explore these worlds. Parents worry about safety concerns such have kidnappers, rapists, and other dangerous people and places. Parents don’t feel safe with letting their kids go out alone as much as they once did because it's not as safe without your parents with you. There is something wrong with this way of living because going outside is very beneficial for your body and mental health you get important vitamin D from being outside, some people even say they feel more energized, happy, and kinder when they go outside. Nature is a kind of natural antidepressant. So we aren’t going outside as much as we should, but going outside is good for our mental and physical health people and kids need time outside and they aren’t getting it.
There needs to be a certain level of freedom or opportunities for these people and kids go outside and play and explore. I believe that it is the responsibility of our population and government to be able to provide programs to let kids and adults go into nature on a more regular basis. If we were able to achieve this I believe that our population would be happier more productive, and would improve the quality of life for everyone. Our world was designed to be explored we don’t let our kids go out and play as much anymore and this is a detriment to our society we have kids growing up not playing in the mud running around the woods getting bumps and bruises, we are worried about our kid's safety. So we are creating a generation who doesn’t know how to handle the outdoors and is even scared of it when it's a beautiful and amazing place. And that is unjust.
